Robert Franzinger ’75 
 

Robert Franzinger is a 1975 graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.  Mr. Franzinger has focused on complex litigation with an emphasis on technology-related issues for more than 30 years.  He is the former leader of Dykema’s Litigation Practice Group.  He practices in all federal and state courts, concentrating on litigation involving commercial and business disputes, telecommunications, commercial warranties, trade secret misappropriation, agricultural business including impacts of stray voltage and other electrical phenomena, and utility rate disputes.  He also has substantial experience in all types of intellectual property litigation and environmental litigation.

Prior to joining Dykema, he was a trial attorney and assistant branch director for the United States Department of Justice in its Civil Division, where he had nationwide responsibility for all categories of civil enforcement litigation.  In law school, Mr. Franzinger was an associate editor for the Journal of Urban Law.

His professional associations include the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association and the American Bar Association.  He was named a Michigan “Super Lawyer” by Law & Politics for 2007, 2008, and 2009, along with being listed in The Best Lawyers in America from 1999-2010.
