Computer Recommendations

The School of Law has a wireless 802.11g network that covers most of the school, making a laptop the computer of choice for many students.

Any Windows-based or Apple laptop/desktop meeting the following minimum requirements or newer should meet your needs.

• Centrino processor operating at 1.5Ghz or above
• 512 MB of RAM
• 60 GB Hard Drive
• DVD/CD-RW or DVD-RW Drive
• Wireless 802.11b/g Network Card (laptops)

* Note to Office 2007 users * The University currently supports up to Office 2003/XP. If you are using Office 2007 products you must save all documents as 2003 or XP document types.

Securexam Examination Software
The minimum requirements for Securexam examination software at the law school are listed below.

Microsoft Users
Software requirements include:

• Microsoft Windows Operating System XP or Vista (North American Version)
• Microsoft .Net framework 2.0
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or 7.0

Minimum hardware requirements include:

• Monitor set to 256 colors or higher
• Pentium III processor (or industry equivalent)
• 512 MB of RAM
• 100 MB free hard disk space

Apple users
Software requirements include:

• Mac OS X

Minimum hardware requirements include:

• Monitor set to 256 colors or higher
• Power PC (G4 or higher) or Intel (MacBook)
• 512 MB of RAM
• 100 MB free hard disk space
