Tuition & Financial Aid

Cost of Attendance

The Cost of Attendance Budgets are based on actual and estimated expenses associated with attending Detroit Mercy Law for one academic year (which is two semesters spanning nine-months). The budgets include education-related expenses like tuition, fees, books and other educational supplies, room and board, transportation, personal expenses, and student loan origination fees (fees charged by the federal government and withheld from the loan before loan funds are disbursed to the school).

Actual costs are used for tuition, Student Bar Association (SBA) dues, and parking fees that are paid directly to the school. Average or estimated costs are used for other items. Students may choose to spend less on estimated expenses to reduce their costs.  Students with actual costs that exceed estimates may request additional aid. First-year students may request an additional allowance for a computer and printer.
