Career Opportunities Spotlight: Detroit Mercy Law student hopes to become a labor and employment attorney

Mackenzie Clark ’22 recently began working as a student law clerk at Asher Kelly, a position she landed through On-Campus Interviews. “I worked on a couple of labor and employment cases during my externship with Judge Berg at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. This is what sparked my interest in labor and employment law,” she explained. 

“In the future, I hope to be a well-respected labor and employment attorney, with excellent research and writing skills. My assignments at Asher Kelly have provided me with the opportunity to research current and nuanced issues in the labor and employment field,” Clark said. “I believe this position at Asher Kelly will help me to become a well-rounded, persuasive, and effective advocate for my clients in the future.”  

Clark, in addition to working as a law clerk, is the Symposium Director for the Detroit Mercy Law Review and is a senior member of the Moot Court Board of Advocates. “I have thoroughly enjoyed being involved at Detroit Mercy Law and giving back to the community that has supported me throughout my law school journey.”
