Detroit Mercy Law student awarded Kimberly M. Cahill Leadership Memorial Scholarship from Macomb County Bar Association
University of Detroit Mercy Law student Tina Toma was recently awarded the Kimberly M. Cahill Leadership Memorial Scholarship from the Macomb County Bar Association. This scholarship is given to a law student who demonstrates outstanding qualities of leadership and the ability to inspire and effectively lead others.
“What I enjoyed the most about my first year at Detroit Mercy Law has been getting to know the community of students, faculty, and alumni who are always willing to lend a helping hand,” said Toma. This summer, Toma will be a summer associate at Varnum PLLC and work as an intern in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
Toma was recently elected president of the Arab American Law Student Association for the 2022-2023 school year. She is also a member of the Women’s Law Caucus and a Detroit Mercy Law Dean’s Fellow.
“The upcoming two years will be particularly memorable for me because my younger brother will enter his first year as a law student in the fall. I’m excited to share this experience with him.”
