Detroit Mercy Law and Windsor Law invite the community to the third and final installment of “Women in Arts and Entertainment Law” series, hosted in partnership with the City of Detroit
University of Detroit Mercy School of Law invites community participation in the third and final installment, Women in Music Law, of the Women in Arts and Entertainment Law series on Thursday, April 20 from 4.30 to 6.30pm (ET) via Zoom. This series is being hosted in partnership with University of Windsor Faculty of Law and the City of Detroit.
Attendees will gain insights into contemporary legal issues within the music industry. These include music copyright matters, licensing, as well as emerging developments in the music industry, under both American and Canadian law, including cross-border considerations.
Panelists will include, Maz Shakernia, Music Product Counsel at TikTok (California), Judith Finell, Musicologist, Judith Finell Music Services Inc. (New York/California), and Sarah Falzon, Counsel at Taylor Oballa Murray Leyland LLP (Toronto).
Both Detroit Mercy Law and Windsor Law offer an arts and entertainment law clinic to serve and empower creatives. This series programming is made possible by the longstanding transnational collaboration between the two law schools.
