Honoring Black History: Student Feature-Christin DewBerry, 3L
Christin DewBerry (3L) is a leader at Detroit Mercy Law. Her classmates elected her to serve as their executive president of the Student Bar Association (SBA)—the governing body that represents students, liaises with the school, and oversees all other student organizations.
Also a leader through service, she is a member of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) and partnered with the Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging as a student representative for Detroit Mercy Law at a Detroit Public Schools career event where she encouraged high schoolers to consider a career in law.
A graduate of an out-of-state HBCU, DewBerry returned home to Detroit for law school. During law school, she worked as a law clerk at a civil litigation firm and as a judicial intern at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
