Cassie Weck Wun Vivere Ex MissioneUniversity of Detroit Mercy School of Law graduate Cassie Weck Wun ’25 was awarded the 2025 Vivere ex Missione Award. Each year, Detroit Mercy presents the Vivere ex Missione - “To Live Out the Mission” - award to four graduating students, including one from the School of Law. This award is presented as a surprise at the commencement ceremony.

Weck Wun received this award for her dedication to service and justice, as demonstrated through her commitment to the school during her three years as a law student. She participated in three semester long clinics, including spending a year working in the Immigration Law Clinic. She volunteered her time working in mini clinics at the Pope Francis Center serving the unhoused population and dedicated countless hours working for the underserved and environmental causes.

Deeply committed to her Catholic faith and the Jesuit mission, she restarted the St. Thomas More Society at the law school, a student organization which promotes Catholic values and ethical service in the law.

Prior to attending law school, Weck Wun worked as a Restorative Justice Coordinator in response to housing code violations in Kansas City and as a legal assistant at Maryland Legal Aid. During law school, she worked as a law and policy intern at an environmental advocacy law firm and as a law clerk in a complex litigation firm.
